Hello my name is Dean Sauskojus. I live in Bozeman Montana
with my wife Karen and my son Benjamin. I've lived in the states of Kansas,
Colorado and Oregon and spent most of my life in Montana. A small community
and the wildness of Montana and the surrounding area is why I live here.I love
to backpack into unknown mountain cirques, places where very few people have
ever been. Anytime I'm in these places I feel a real sense of awe and excitement,
which I try to deliver on film. My hope is that through my photographs people
can see God's power and his majesty. It's because of Him that I'm able to do
what I do. I started taking photographs of my son with a 35mm camera 16 years
ago. After moving back to Montana I bought a 4x5 and haven't put it down since.
I love the image quality and detail of the larger format camera.
All of the images on this site are taken with a 4x5 camera. My equipment includes: Wista DX 4x5 Field Camera; a Bogen 3021 tripod; 135mm Nikkor; 210 Schneider Symar; 400mm Fuji; 75mm and 90mm Rodenstock Grandagon lenes. I also use a Pentax spotmeter and my favorite film is Fuji Velvia. Inquiries for stock and assignment photography are welcome.
